This section will give you insight into the Island and its cities. You'll find maps, pictures and descriptions here - the maps are interactive where places are marked, so you can zoom in and find out more.
Of course, this section is far from complete... places and features will be added as they appear in the story, as you think of and tell us about them!

The Island has three main cities.
Harbor City lies on the east mid-coast, Metro City is its western counterpart, and Santo Rico lies to the north. Metro and Harbor are separated by the mountain range down the center of the island. Santo Rico is the "crime city", but this doesn't mean that Harbor and Metro aren't dark, forbidding places. Au contraire, mon ami!
There is one other city, in the south of the Island. Known as Dark City, but officially called New Vale City, this place has been abandoned since an incident at the city's nuclear power plant.
Off the southeast coast lies Kane Island, a small outcrop housing the Outland penal colony. It is linked to the main island by a bridge controlled by the port and the prison watch.
Off the northwest coast lies Haven, a small island inhabited by a reclusive religious community.
The general political attitude of the Island is one of lax concern for the needy. Metro has good managers but a shortage of funds. Harbor has the money from trade with the mainland, but the wealth is very much kept for the wealthy. Santo Rico has the dubious pleasure of having both corrupt law enforcement and governors, and also very little money in civic coffers due to overpopulation - it bore the brunt of the relocations from New Vale City.
