Dexter is a struggling investigative reporter for the Harbor Sun-Herald, a real Woodward & Bernstein wannabe. Dex is both ally and nemesis to Sax - on one hand, he is sometimes a valuable source of raw information for Sax's investigations, and on the other hand, a liability who sometimes just can't resist the lure of spilling some of Sax's confidential ongoing case information all over the front pages of the Sun-Herald. However, he usually tempts Sax to spill the beans with Red Dog, so it ain't all bad!
